Street Vision L.A.
Posted By: jgredline, 04-28-2012, 06:57 PM

Hi Folks.
I was told I should choose some of my favorite street pictures and put them here, so here I am. These are in no particular order. I let flickr choose these for me as I have no clue what to place here.
Thanks for looking.

Javier, your chronicling of the life of LA streets is always fascinating, in large measure because of your skill and especially your sharp eye. I'm glad you posted this thread here. Well done.

For me, the best type of street photos are the ones that are taken just as the, shall we say, subjects are looking at the camera aware that they are about to have their photo taken.
That's why I like # 2 and # 4 and also the lady behind the tree staring right at the camera the best.
Good stuff.

Excellent images. Number 4 is also my favorite of the bunch. I'm quite interested in the story behind this photo.

I really enjoyed viewing your set. Not only do they all have a distinct artist value, I enjoy seeing what the "streets" look like as I have never been to a place like those in the pics.

Thanks for sharing!

Wow. Thanks for all the kind words folks. I am truly humbled.
Here are a few more that according to flickr people like.

While looking through the oldest external hard drive I have, I found the main picture that started me onto a passion for street photography, though I did not know that was street at the time...Prior to that I would spend hours and days birding...If it flew, I shot it...Anyway, the first picture in this series I shot with a Pentax K110D and FA50F/1.4....I remember this very well because I was trying to do some slow shutter stuff to catch the fountain...I remember waiting and waiting for the girl to move and she would not...So I snapped a few of her hoping she would get the hint and eventually she did, but never realized I made her picture...So she was finally gone and I proceeded to get my picture...When I got home, I realized how much the human element added to what other wise would have been a boring picture...So while the picture is not that great, it means allot to me.
I reprocessed it in Lightroom 3.5
