Very nice shots of a braconid wasp (Hymenoptera: Braconidae). Your photos are so clear that an expert might even be able to identify it to species (which is no easy feat even under a microscope). Well done!

I've seen this type of wasp in my garden too, across the other side of the North Sea... TINY! F22 on the reversed lens? I had a look at your setup with homemade hood on Flickr, mine's very similar =)

Thanks, yes, it's tiny indeed! F22 on the Panagor. Do you set the aperture on the reversed lens?

I do, yes, but that's cause usually I use tubes. But ugh, it's just too horribly dark, f/8 is about my limit.

We had those ruby wasps in our garden, two years ago. If I remember well, they are quite early flyers, but I did not notice them this year.... Hope they will return! They are great....

Ah, thanks! Yes I wondered about that.... I guess it's easier to mount it in front of a (macro or not) lens then...... I will control aperture more easily!
