Landscape FOB Warrior Horizon

We had a bout of flooding here at my FOB last week but the sky was drop dead gorgeous. A little PP with Lightroom, but not much. Not bad for the kit lens.

And one that I seriously played with.

I just love the skies on the first one!!

The others remind me much of a very dangerous place to be - almost "freakish" !

Is that a bomb or a Zeppelin-type of thing in the middle of the second shot?

Yeah, its definitely bat country out here. The natives don't like us much.

The blimp is our PTDS - aka Persistent Threat Detection System. Basically an eye in the sky.

My son-in-law was stationed in Afghanistan a couple of times over the past few years (from Canada - STF) and this sure makes a point about the "territory" he was talking about.

So, here I thought that this blimp thing was a bomb with the shape of "Little Boy" of the last WW. Thanks for clarifying.
