KC-10 Air Force Tanker 2 of 2
Lens: DAL 55-300 Camera: K20D
Posted By: ismaelg, 04-30-2012, 06:04 AM

Hi,

I posted earlier about a pair of Air Force KC-10 tankers that I had the chance to photograph from an active runway.
Here is the second aircraft of the pair.
While the first did a "Touch and Go", this one did a high pass, followed by a very low pass without touching the runway (I gess less than 15-20 feet) before landing on the third approach.

Sorry for the many pics, but I had a great time....

All pics K20D/DA L 55-300 This lens was made for us [metal] bird chasers

High pass

Very low pass

and here some detail shots

Thanks!

Lucky you being able to be on the strip with a camera! Lots of great photos. I agree about the DA 55-300 it works really well for me too!

Pretty cool shots, of course

Good thing you got a pic of the refuelling boom - sort of what makes the KC-10 important!

I think there's also pods under the wings as well.
