Mount Rundle - Wide view
Lens: DA* 16-50 Camera: K5 Photo Location: Banff, Alberta, canada
Posted By: daacon, 05-01-2012, 07:24 PM

There is no doubt Mount Rundle s the most photographed mountain in the Banff National Park. The last time I was there (fall 2011) I almost exclusively used my DA 12-24. This time I decided to give the DA* 16-50 a chance. I know this lens has had it's issue with some but for me it has always been a stellar performer of which I forget about. Glad I took it out and here are a couple of snaps.

The lakes are all still frozen. It was a definitively a different look. I plan to go back in about a month when the ice shold be all gone. Hopefully I will get as nice a day as this one was.

love the first shot, great catch with the frozen lake. Rundle reminds me a bit of a ship in the ocean, possibly a sinking ship.

Another sweet pair. The tourist board should be using your images.

Thanks MSL - that mountain has millions of shots taken each year I am sure. It does look much sweeter in the early am and water in the Lake ... thanks for the kind words.

I miss the ability to travel freely but photos of this quality bring the best locations right to me. I can just about feel the cold and smell the trees
