My Hummers have finally arrived
Posted By: charliezap, 05-05-2012, 06:44 PM

I was like a kid in a candy store.I was in the front yard and heard the bee buzz sound and there he was. There was eventually 2 of them and they were having a feeding frenzy well after the street lights came on.I was switching lenses left and right and had the window open and they were at times only an arms length away.I'll have to look at the exif data to see what lens I was using at the time.I'm so excited that I think I'll need a red solo cup or 2 to calm down.---charliezap

These are all wonderful, Charlie! I have yet to get a hummingbird shot approaching any of these. Great work! I'll have to dust off the 55-300 and try again soon. I have seen one so far this year....

These are very good, Capn. I almost missed 'em - I'm glad I didn't.

The action has really slowed down after the frenzy that night. Now it seems like one feeder--one hummingbird.--charliezap

Really nice Charlie. Our hummers had not arrived when we left home and it is really late for them. Hopefully I will find some when we get back next week. Yours are more than adequate as a substitute however.

Hi Bruce. They were very active for the first 2 days but they have settled down probably because of the food available in the wetlands around the home.--charliezap

I don't think so Bruce. There are no trails-it's wet and loaded with poison ivy.--charliezap

That would be a lot of suffering Bruce.I'll have to take a couple of shots looking into the wet lands to show how nasty it is.--charliezap
