Well here is my shoot of the big shiver plate hanging in the sky tonight, at north Florida.
The process might be more interesting: I only have a monopod, so I tied it to a chair, and further secured the whole assembly by rice bag and beer pack...no remote either, so I used 2s delay.
The pic is cropped to 1/9 of its original size, sharpened.

The full moon is too bright to shoot. Another pic with the same set up at different moon phase gives more details of the surface.

Good shots. I don't think the brightness has anything to do with the detail. If you look at the 2nd shot, the detail is in the craters near the dark side of the moon. This I believe is because of long shadows being cast by them. The moon is more flat in direct light when it is full.
