Foxes and Green woodpeckers
Camera: Pentax K-5 Photo Location: Local woods

These were taken at around 06:45 this morning using a K-5/Sigma 300mm f2.8 EX DG ISO1600 first two 1/125 and the last two 1/80 all handheld.








Next K-5/Sigma 500mm f4.5 EX DG 50% crop

You know these are totally amazing, right?!! The face on your fox is so expressive, each shot showing a different emotion, each shot priceless. I have never seen green woodpeckers before... wonderful captures. Thanks so much for posting. I enjoyed the series very much.

Green Woodpeckers are very secretive birds I'm 52 years old and yesterday was the longest time I have ever seen one let alone two [I nearly wet myself]
I also saw the female checking out a nesting hole in a tree shortly before they mated ,so I am hoping to get some better shots.

Very nice work! The fox photos are standouts IMO.

I must say, you have very steady hands. Hand held 300mm lens at 1/125 is impressive and 500mm at 1/80 is really impressive!!!

Wow, wow, wow. Well done and lucky you to have such beauties to take photos of close to home. That fox looks so perfect, he almost looks like he was made by Disney.
