Great vantage point there Jim ! I can imagine you suspended on a rope tied to a tree to get 'the shot' - I don't see any beer cooling in the creek ?

Thanks Charlie. Interesting thing about my hobby. It changed me in more ways then one. Quit smoking, lost 45 pounds and I am out every weekend traveling through the local parks loving every minute of it but the biggest thing I got out of this has been the awesome people I have met that share this passion. As they say Priceless!!! Cheers JIMBO

Jim, the riversides you photograph are stunning, and it's easy to understand the allure. It's hard to tear oneself away when shooting beautiful places.

I always enjoying viewing your work... it has inspired me on many of my water shots. We are (hopefully) leaving tomorrow for a few days canoeing and camping at a place called the Barron Canyon. Any tips on how to capture the sheer canyon walls whilst in a small canoe on a narrow river below? We'll also be hiking to some vistas over the river. I think we'll have a few waterfalls and cascades as well.

Probably wide angle? I'll look at your data....

Thanks for sharing your work Jim.

Sounds like a awesome trip Tess. I do get carried away at times and take far too many chances where I set up my Tri-pod. All these were shot with a 24-70 though I should have used my 16-35 on a lot of these shots. For me it's all about them sky. If it is too bright out I try not to include the sky in my shots which means no wide angle lens. Good luck o your outing and looking forward to seeing some of your beautiful images. JIM
