Architecture? Or Landscape?

I really like the way this image turned out... eventually. (I'm not saying you have to though.) But it was an informative experience for me and it reinforced the opportunities and enjoyment that post-processing can provide. I'm actually pretty impatient with images on the computer screen. In this case, it was a decent shot out of the camera, with some interesting geometry, and I was tempted to just post it straight up. But it lacked a sense of theme and story. So I said to myself: do something with this. Make it interesting.

I got an idea for something more vintage with more character, and more emphasis on the birdhouse. So I played with a number of variables in Lightroom, and then I cropped it several times over until it felt right to me. I think now there's a much more compelling and even sentimental story of a bird and its home, whatever that might be.

But the big strain on my mind is of course... is this architecture or landscape?

Uh...I'd say neither. Nice, though.

Strong image. I'd say the image certainly tells a little story of the landscape. I like it.

I think you managed to tell a very compelling story. I am always drawn to images there culture and nature intersect and they do quite poignantly in this shot. Lovely muted tones and the composition is great. I really really like your final product!
