I had many ideas in my mind as I set about taking photos today, none of which turned out as I had hoped. Here are a few "collateral damage" shots. Thank you for putting up with me!!

I like that fungus shot. Nice effect with the soft focus on the green plants.
But what the heck is that thing?

I love the colour and cropping on the second photo (trees along path). Fits in with my general theme of making the ordinary look special. Same too for the second last photo.

The Geode? I'd call that "Lava Atoll from Space". At least that is what it reminds me of. Very nice work.

Does that make the last photo "Lava Atoll Droppings from Space"?

Nice.
But I suspect not if you step in it, just like real droppings (Sorry Tess, I'll start behaving now)

If this is "collateral damage" I can't wait for the real stuff. You have a way with colours that leaves me in awe. I love the geode. Thanks for posting.

Hey all, thanks for so many wonderful and funny comments!!

I don't know what that fungus is yet, but as I was taking a photo of it one of my dogs came over and licked it, that's why it's a bit wet on top!

The geode is just weird... it does have great colours, but it did not photograph at all like I expected.

The "Lava Atoll from Space "and "droppings from space" comments made me howl.

Only the Atoll was shot with the tamron, all the rest with the 50 1.7 on the K5 and I was blown away by the colours, tones and bokeh, and the clarity and textures on those white flowers.

The K5 made the 50mm a very nice lens to work with.

Thanks all for having a look and commenting

Some pretty nice "damage" here, Tess. I especially like the fourth one of the tree with a lake in the background. Typically in lake shots, attention is centered on the water with trees, houses etc. utilized for framing - this shot with the tree sharply defined in the foreground is interesting.
