Emus Drinking

Can't see it but the emus were drinking from a puddle on the road at the caravan park at Wilpena Pound in the Flinder's Ranges

Amazing. I have seem emus frequently over the years but never seen them kneeling with their knees bent backwards like that.

Actually that is not the knee; it is more anatomically analogous to the human ankle, so it's bending the right way

first time for me too, they are usually running away. just grabbed the camera and snapped.
