Sometimes Plugins are a good thing

Here is a picture I took at Emerald Lake (facing the other side) couple of weeks ago. I did not like the original so much so I brought it over to Topaz Adjust and I was quite pleased with the end result. This saved a picture and in fact I may even get it printed.

You "might" get it printed?
I can't really understand you wouldn't get it printed.
Looks great, and would look even better on the wall...biggest dilemma is the colour of the frame.

So this is what good PP can do to an already great shot? Stunning!

I got the whole topaz bundle but find it a bit hard to use and pretty slow (with Lightroom 3) and i guess that I'm doing something wrong.

That's a surreal treatment. In particular, I like the ground/water look. I much prefer it to the original, and to my personal taste it's close, but I feel it's over-cooked particularly from the ground up. If you could tame the blending a little so it's a little more natural looking, it would be really, really great. What about trying a black and white or sepia tone as a next step? That could be interesting too with all the high contrast that's been established.
