Sunset Inferno (2 imgs)
Posted By: sajmmiller, 01-17-2008, 12:06 PM

Folks in NW Arkansas enjoyed a fabulous sunset January 12th. The Tamron 70-300 LD Di was on the K10D, so that's what I used. Hope you like them.

One landscape frame at 70mm

Three portrait frames at 70mm stitched and cropped to 5:4 aspect

Those are real winners. Too bad the sunset weekly challenge was @ the end of 2007 and not now! One of'm could'a been a contender! I like the 2nd more of the two.

Howdy Scott,
Certainly spectacular, you can't not be impressed by this type of event.
Well captured too. I'm still not convinced about the Tamron, I like its size/weight, I like the range but I am just not 100% sold on it yet.
But to be fair neither have I used it for any length of time, I probably need to have a day or two with it by itself.
Cheers
Grant

Thanks! I appreciated the opportunity to learn from all the amazing shots submitted by others in the December contest.

Hi Grant,
Thanks for commenting. I'm still warming up to the Tamron; this is my second copy. Overall, I think it's good bang for the buck. I bought it mainly because I wanted the 200mm to 300mm range. I plan on keeping my DA 50-200.

Thanks Kim! I think we got some of your cold Northern air down here this morning (10F). Now if it would just snow so I could shoot something to enter in the January Monthly contest.
