Snapper

Don't see many of these guys as a rule but I caught this turtle as he emerged from the pond today. Not sure but I think it might be a Snapping turtle.

I'm no expert either, but snapper or not, it's a good capture.

Thanks Jford,

I wish I had my macro lens when this guy showed up. A 400mm isn't exactly a point and shoot sort of optic. This guy was about the size of a dinner plate and looks like he just crawled out of the Jurassic era. Just one of those cool things you see once in a while when you are looking for something else.

Actually, the water levels are so low in the pond this year I think he was looking for bigger puddle across the road.
