More Belfast street art
Lens: Sigma 17-70 Camera: K5 Photo Location: Belfast, Ireland

Here are some more pictures of Belfast political art. Cromwell, in the first painting, is probably the most hated person among Republicans. There are few people as dangerous as someone who thinks they can see into the mind of God, and are the sole executors of His will on Earth. The last two photos are memorials - one Unionist, one Republican. It is worth remembering those who gave "the last full measure of devotion," but every leader and would-be leader knows the power of martyrs to unite people for a cause.

Yes. I'm not exactly sure why. Here is the sign just visible below the painting, enlarged from the same file so the IQ is being stretched,

Re-bonjour WPRESTO,

Boy, how I have forgotten about all those American history classes ... !

"Andrew Jackson (March 15, 1767 to June 8, 1845) was the seventh President of the United States of America (1829 to 1837). He was born to Presbyterian Scots-Irish colonists Andrew and Elizabeth Hutchinson Jackson, on March 15, 1767, approximately two years after they had emigrated from Carrickfergus, in Northern Ireland."

"A+" ... à plus tard, John

PS edit - The mural is on Wiki, too : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Jackson#Early_life_and_education
