That's cool! I'm curious to know why the round looks 'thin' in the photo.

I'm not sure if it is the round or not. I think is could be and the speed that it is traveling made it look like that ( like car lights on a long exposure). It could also just be a bit of flame, because the bullet coming out of the case is gray. IDK Thanks for looking

It looks like burn-off of a chunk of GP residue.

That's muzzle flash. Looks like the brass is just clearing the ejection port. We had club member shoot some photos at one of our club matches, and he actually caught the bullet leaving the muzzle. Check it out. He has been shooting pics for the shooting sports and some of the top shooters for a while now. That's cool! It looks like the projectile is just out of the barrel about 8 - 10 inches right there and the slide is just barely starting to come back. This makes me believe the original post is most likely not a round seen in the photo. Both are very cool photos..
