Shelburne Farms
Lens: Pentax 18 - 55 Camera: Pentax Kx Photo Location: Shelburne, VT

Shelburne Farms was built in 1886 on 1,400 breath taking acres off the shore of Lake Champlain. If you are ever in the area, it is certainly a must see, children or not.

We spent the early afternoon chasing around chickens, milking a cow, discovering eggs, watching babies nurse, petting the newborns and hiking around the property. We certainly will return soon!

Photo 3: Fresh hatched egg

Photo 4: 17 day old calf's make shift pacifier (I recall doing this with my children when they were young)

Photo 5: Piglets nursing while mama takes a snooze

Photo 6: My 7 year old son "mommy can we have a chicken???"

Photo 7: My 10 year old daughter finally got up the courage to pick one up herself

Photo 8: Front view of the farm while walking on the trail

Photo 9: Wood carvings, wish I got the story on these.

Photo 10: This lamb was quite a brute while demanding milk from it's mother

I travelled through quite a lot of Vermont last October and second your motion that Lake Champlain and surroundings are worth seeing! I like your photographs, too.

Thank you RM Barker. I couldn't imagine any other place to call home.

Yes, daacon. A day might be ok if you only wanted to visit the farm, but plan a week, minimum, and see Vermont!
