A Walk in the Arizona Desert
Posted By: Bob Harris, 05-20-2012, 10:09 PM

Photos from the last couple of days showing that although the desert is very parched, often getting less than 4 inches of rain per year, it still has a beauty of its own. It was 107f today, tomorrow we are headed to the Grand Canyon where temps should be much cooler.

What gorgeous colors you've captured here, Bob! Astounding. I can honestly say before I started seeing your photos, I never knew how colorful the desert could be. Such a nice discovery at my advanced age!!
I really like the red color in the Ocotillo cactus Lori, a lot of people just drive by the desert and say it is so brown and ugly, but if a person takes a little time, there is some real beauty. I appreciate the kind words and support. Bob

thanks so much Charlie, time to spend the kids inheritance and burn some of that expensive diesel. We are headed to the Grand Canyon to spend a couple of days in cooler weather.
