This thing was actually about 60cm round, it was actually a muted green grey in colour, so the Black and White really made its detail stand out.

Nicely done, it looks so different in black & white.

Not sure about the crop (I would leave just a little more space in the top), but nice shot, good processing.

Indeed BW gives it a completely different look nicely done.

I was pretty close, and only cropped the sides from the original, I have some portrait versions , I'll have a play with them.

This Black and White version is straight out of the K-5 with the white balance set to B&W.

Thank you, really enjoying contrast with B&W, it makes flat pics suddenly come alive.

Thanks for looking and the comments

That is a nice B&W. Can't believe it was straight out of the camera. The K-5 never ceases to amaze me.

Ah yes, I don't know why I assumed it was originally shot as portrait. Also, some people really like a square crop and some don't, so I might be unfairly biased here.

Thanks Susan, Yes, the K-5 for me, is almost like working with film again, a pure joy, giving me back alot of enthusiasm I had lost.

You didn't asume incorrectly, I did also take the same pic in portrait, but, I should also have taken it with a bit more neutral space around it,as I feel it needs a bit more open space to be a better pic, its just too close in on it.

Thanks for the comments Guys.
