Macro Extension tubes experiment

Trying my cheap extension tubes with a 50A 1.7. I need to work on my lighting and focusing is very difficult with the tubes, but I think this one came out ok. It's a very tiny fruit fly. Used my Sunpak DX-8R ringflash set on 1/16 power. More experimenting tomorrow after Beryl moves out of the area.

Wow you have lots of detail captured here and the focus couldn't be better. Interesting gold color on that critter.

Nice capture and thanks for the idea that it gave me for my A 50/1.7 ... I just de-glassed a cheap TC to experiment/use with a M 100 f4 Macro ... going to try it with the A now.

Jean, I also have a de-glassed TC that I use with my 100 f4 macro. With the 50/1.7 you will need 50mm of tube to get 1:1 macro. And I think you will need the same 50mm of tubes with the 100 f4 macro to get 1:1 since it does 1:2 by itself. I plan on getting another cheap TC to de-glass, the plain tubes are hard to work with because they don't have the aperture control.
