One last flurry of Yosemite shots, and then I promise I'll give it a rest.
Late afternoon from Glacier Point, waiting for the super moon to rise.
A tree stump, apparently recently cut, on the trail up to Sentinel Dome. I was struck by the orange core (OK, so I juiced it up a bit
).
A bark closeup, I believe it's a Ponderosa pine but I could be wrong. Maybe a sugar pine? I like the day-glo fungus (lichen?) that you find all over the Yosemite high country.
Dogwood, in bloom everywhere in the valley in early May.
I like this one because it really gives you a feeling for the vastness and remoteness of the Sierra wilderness. This is taken from the top of Sentinel Dome, higher up than Glacier Point, and about a mile further away from Half Dome.
