A bumble bee and a bug
Lens: Tamron 90 2.8 macro Camera: K-5 Photo Location: The woods of South Algonquin Ontario
Posted By: tessfully, 05-31-2012, 02:37 PM

I did a little shooting today. I have not taken many insect shots and now I can see why it could become an addiction.

The bee I followed around the flower taking dozens of shots...what a cool process to see the bee at work in many stages.

My dof needs work on the leaf hopper, but still I thought he looked cool.

thanks for looking

Wasn't that a fairy tale The Bee and the Bug ? Or perhaps a red solo cup story. The bee is perfect you nailed it as Charlie says , and what is in focus for the leaf hopper is just as detailed.

Wow, excellent focusing Tess! All shots are right on spot but the bee shots are perfect. I can touch the bee's hairs.

Gorgeous shots, Tess! I rarely see bumblebees around here. They all seem to be carpenter bees. I love these guys, so fuzzy! You really got some great detail here and perfect DOF!!

really great shots tess, such color & detail. I put a bid on one of these lenes on ebay a few weeks back, I set my limit and was determined not to go over, but I got out bid in the last few seconds, I've been wishing I had set my limit a little higher, ... this isn't helping.

cheers.

Norm, hate to break it to you but you need to give Tess the K-5. She has really earned it especially in these shots. Those bees are something else again.
