that could so easily be a scene from outback Australia (except that I've never seen a plant like that before!) I need glass of water!

cheers.

CC, that is a cholla cactus in pretty bad shape. They can survive in climates often with less than 4 inches of rain per year, not sure what happened here, but I did see new growth and greenery on the bottom of the plant. thanks Bob

Very warm and interesting image Bob. I really like the creative framing of the wind mill. Thanks for sharing

That's the NM desert I remember from years ago. Hot but dry. Hope you are out of there or at least well away from the fires. Seems like you are now headed to Wyoming and SD after leaving the Grand Canyon?

Dave, I think this area could use some of that snow and rain you get up there, a week-full could last a year in this location.

John, you better bring your own beer here, the Navajo do not sell beer on their lands.

It was so warm my wife stayed in the Jeep with AC on while I took a series of photos.

Susan, the wind currents kept the smoke south of us, what a terrible fire. We had 50plus mph winds on our travels through NM, blew the MH around a bit. We pulled into CO yesterday, will be here for a little more than a month with family and then head to Wyoming and Montana for the rest of the summer.
