Great Blue Heron on the Hunt
Lens: Tair 3 300mm F4.5 Preset Camera: K20D Photo Location: Northern Colorado ISO: 100 Aperture: F5.6

I went out fishing today at a local lake. I decided to take a camera this time as last time I saw a lot of wading birds, even an eagle catching a fish. I have a small one man pontoon that I fish from. It has an electric trolling motor, so it is silent, which makes it pretty easy to get close to the wildlife.

Here is a short series of shots of a Great Blue Heron fishing. Taken with my K20D and Tair 3 lens.

Thanks Bob. Not today, some storms blew in real early, so we had to get off the water. Last week we caught some walleye and White Bass and had them for supper

Thank you everyone! It was harder than I thought it would be to shoot from the small pontoon (8' boat). It was definitely quiet enough, but the waves from the other boats made for some not so steady shooting conditions.

I'm going to go to another lake next week (where I saw the eagle catch the fish) and try shooting there. There aren't many boats on that lake and it is a no wake lake, so it should be a little easier.
