We had a picnic today at a lake and enjoyed watching a nest of barn swallows. Every time I used the flash the hatchlings would poke their heads up and open their mouths.

Another nest apparently had eggs since this one entered the nest to sit.

I also saw a heron but had the wrong lens on the camera at the time and he was pretty far off.

Very nice. In one of my previous residences they used to nest 3 feet outside my kitchen window , every year. I miss seeing them. Thanks.
