I caught this a couple of weeks ago while working in Erie, PA. The guy blowing bubbles seemed to fit well.

brilliant composition - took me a while to decipher the bubble blower as he just seems so out of place (hadn't read your caption yet). certainly a unique shot

A keeper. Excellent color and composition. I thought it was a fisherman casting a very strange net until I saw the reference to bubbles.

Ahhh...very beautiful...it looks like the guy caught the sun in his bubble.

Beyond the gorgeous picture - how did that guy cast such a large bubble. I thought one had to have a soapy solution for a bubble to form - a picture with a mystery. print it large and put it on a wall. belongs on a book cover or magazine article!

I'm guessing the object on the front of his raft is a bucket of soapy water.

I think you're right, it looks like a 5 gallon bucket and probably has the soapy wire. He probably pulls out that triangular wire thing and presto - a bubble. It would be fun to try that, wouldn't it

Also it looks like, after magnification, that he's standing on one of those paddling surfboards, or whatever its called.

Superb, absolute perfection. The colour reflected on the water is gorgeous, the setting sun inside the bubble, the silhouette... yep, a once in a lifetime shot. A real winner.

Thanks everyone!!! This one ranks as one of my Favorites in my personal gallery. I did submit this one to the Pentax Photo Gallery. I also heard from the guy who makes the Big Bubble Stuff. I hope this is OK, the link is www.bigbubblestuff.com

To add a bizarre twist to this story. I was back in Erie, PA again this week for work. I was at a different customer this week. The guy whole operates the machine I fixed this week is the guy on the paddleboard in the picture!!! Talk about freaky coincidences!

Freaky, indeed. Did you have the opportunity to show him this pic?

He had already seen it. The guy who makes the Big Bubble Stuff is a friend of his. He contacted me soon after I originally posted the picture. He has a copy of it hanging at his work station.
