128. The Broadway Bridge connects Manhattan to the US continent, though Marble Hill which was separated when the river course was re-routed.


129. The Columbia University "C". That is not Columbia University, however.

132. George Washington Bridge, and the lighthouse that was saved from demolition. There is a children's book entitled The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Gray Bridge. These are they :-)

Great series, and looks like you had a grand old time. Really enjoyed the shots of the Intrepid. It brought back a lot of good memories. I was on the USS Oriskany (CVA-34) for a couple of years and she was about the same size as the Intrepid. If you look at picture #36 (Marine berthing), our sleeping quarters were the same, and I had the top bunk of the 3. You always wanted to be on top as there was a little more room, plus you didn't have people "stepping on you" as they climbed up to the top bunk.

I'm glad you got a little out of it. Ship life is a bit cramped, from my touristy experiences :-)
