EM, I think they are just some type of flower bee. They were very tiny. The second one may be a carpenter bee.

Cool shots! Always amazes me to see the fringes on the wild flowers. The first shot of the bee and flower is especially nice!!

LOL, I was more interested in the great flower macro. The bees were a bonus.

Great pics. How close did you get to the subject? A foot away? Closer?

The 100 macro close focus is about 17 inches. I had a 25mm tube behind it with the lens racked all the way out, I was probably around 8-12 inches away.

Cool. Does tube mean extension tube?

It's basically a extension tube, I use a 2x teleconverter with the glass removed.
