I'd normally never do this, but...
Lens: Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG Macro Camera: Pentax K-r Photo Location: Ontario, Canada ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/60s Aperture: F8

The colour of these poppies was so intense with the sun streaming through them, that I figured I'd have a go at the selective colour thing.

I think it looks cool. I think in certain situations SC works well, though I know there are many who hate it at all costs. I like this, Philoslothical!

I like it too. To me photography is an artistic endeavor and has every right to be creative!

This certainly lifts the poppy out of a pretty mundane background. I like it

As long as you keep the exception the rule, and ensure the end product is this good, we won't complain.

Loco, Den, Bruce Clark, and MSL thanks, glad you like it. I normally shy away from this kind of effect, it's I think the second time I've done it. Nice to know it wasn't a horrible mistake.

Here's one in natural colours.

I love poppies. They don't last long, but in their full glory, they're beautiful.
