Macro Chironomidae with sparkle

Chironomidae with sparkle · 08:40 AM

A male of Chironomidae. It's 3 to 5mm long.

Taken with a 24mm Sigma super-wide II lens reversed using a 52mm reversing ring with diffused off-camera flash. The green background is a leaf I had balanced on a nearby flower (a few centimetres behind the fly).
