Not a particularly great picture, and not even last night, but I had to put this in here... My son and I have been waiting a long time for this! We're getting ready for the repeat, and going to the opener for sure. :-)

Seriously, though, congrats to the Kings and their fans. The Kings clearly played the best, most exciting hockey of the playoffs and deserved to win the cup.

Yes, we watched the game here in Colorado, unbelievable trip through the playoffs and to win the Cup a very special reward after 45 years. Quick and team were tremendous.

"Waiting for a long time for this" - you have no idea. Consider the plight of those of us who live in the Toronto area.

Forty five years and counting since the last cup with no end in sight.

All my teams were knocked out early so my interest was not prime , however of the two teams left I was hoping for the Kings and Sutter. They played well and peaked at the perfect time. Very cool to be there to see that.

It's the curse I put on them. After the Leafs won the cup last Harold Ballard basically sold their best player Frank Mahavolich to the Canadians, (ya that's right...to the freakin Canadians) because he had a very long legs and a long stride, and didn't look like he was working very hard when he was skating by every body. I moved to Canada when I was 10, and started watching hockey soon after. For me Frank was hockey. It was 15 years before I turned on another Leaf game... and the Leaf's aren't winning another cup until I forgive them. And that isn't going to happen any time soon.

Congrats! Your team has a good nucleus with Doughty, Quick and Kopitar...nice additions of Carter, Richards all the big wingers from the farm. Glad willie mitchell got his ring. I am sure he will be ragging his old Canucks team mates with that.

Thanks... we're looking for some good hockey for years to come. All those guys you mentioned are still in their early to mid twenties, and all are signed for multi-year contracts except Quick (who I'm sure they'll sign). Lots of other good guys hanging around for several more years as well.
