Gorgeous shots, in particular the third one. Personally, I find "weeds" to have the most interesting blooms and colors. Every Spring I go through a war with Mrs Rupert over cutting the yard which destroys all those lovely "weeds" in bloom.
Like Otis, she always wins, but I can get it delayed a couple of weeks!
Regards!

Very nice , beats the crap out of our lovely Dandelions that have been quite dominate this year.
Moving to the boonies mean you never have to root out dandelions again. Everything that grows up here on the dome is tougher than they are. Except over the septic system. There they seem to be able to hold their own.

Fiery and impressive, Norm. Plus, I learned something - I didn't know there was such a thing as a hockweed.

There isn't, I was corrected somewhere in the thread, it's "Hawkeed."

THe Royal Ontario Museum guidebook lists it as Indian Paintbrush. Some books do call it Hawkweed though. I've also heard it called "Fireweed" althought the ROM shows another plant called FIreweed.

Scientific name Castilleja Coccinea.

Thanks dave, as much as I love the K-5, there's nothing wrong with the K20D in good light.
