Pyramid Rock
Lens: 70mm Camera: K5 Photo Location: New Mexico

As you travel on the I-40 through Gallup, NM you will notice the beautiful sandstone cliffs on Navajo Nation land and the railroad yard and tracks that divide the city. I went down to the RR yard to get the best view of the rock and incorporated the oil car in the photo.

For a moment there I thought you had shifted your travels to Egypt
Another bit of interesting geography - thanks again for sharing your travels.

I wish I could go to Egypt Marc, but they seem to have problems there I wouldn't want to put up with so I just stopped and photographed Pyramid Rock here in the US.

Amazing sandstone cliffs! I can see the striations of time and the juxtaposition of the oil car has a visual and subtextual richness. Great job Bob.

The sandstone in this area doesn't seem to have the heavy iron deposits that caused the deep reds in other places we have visited and I agree the color really is something to view and changes a bit as the sun moves around. thanks Bob
