During our recent national parks trip we visited Bryce Canyon, Utah. Everything screams shoot wide and I did some of that, but I was also trying to get some more intimate shots, so I walked around with my 35mm. I quickly caught these trees down at the bottom of the pathway. Had to shoot quickly before people walked by. Turned out ok. I only realized after the fact that I shot it handheld at 1/8th second and it's a pretty steady shot. In camera stablization did the trick. Gave this a somewhat sepia treatment and desaturated it, but it's not far off from the colour impression of the sandstone rocks and gravel. I liked the simplicity of the scene but I wouldn't personally want to try and grow anything down there...
