The non Macro - Macro
Lens: DA* 60-250 Camera: K5 Photo Location: Sherwood Park, Alberta ISO: 1600 Shutter Speed: 1/1500s Aperture: F11

I am getting sick of this daily rain ! And if you are sick of my Bee or Bubble shots close thread now OK bitching over -

During the 12 minute sunny break today I was out on the deck with the DA* 60-250 to try and get some birds on the feeder shots. We put the feeder out late this year so they are still very tentative of me on the deck pointing this big black hooded thing at them (perfect spot for a that's what she said comment). While waiting for them to come to the feeder of course my every constant companions the bees were around.

The DA* 60-50 does not have that close a minimum focus distance (110 cm) so I had to back up. I pushed up the ISO and once again I am impressed with not only this Lens , but the resolution and ISO capabilities of the K5.

Non-Crop shot

that's one hell of a non-macro photo Dave, certainly better than most of my macro shots. You have a great combo there I would say.

Nice thing if you get only 12 minutes of sun is that the bee isn't going to care that you are around - it is too hungry to notice. Try a 30% crop or so, and you should get a nice photo of both the bee enlarged from the uncropped one and just enough of the flowers around it.

I do like the DA* 60-250 , it was a chunk of change for sure , but so far it does not dissappoint (now the operator on the other hand ......)

Thanks Marc this was just to show the resolution and detail in the shot. I may have exaggerated the 12 minutes but it has rainded here almost every day at some point for the last week These Bees don't seemed bothered by me they just carry on.
