Park Pinata Party
Photo Location: Black Forest, Colorado
Posted By: Bob Harris, 06-18-2012, 05:33 AM

We took the family over to the local park and had a great picnic with the grandkids and Terri surprised them with a pinata full of candy and a little money. We had sort of a gloomy day, but the fun of watching the kids trying to hit the pinata blindfolded brightened it up for everyone.

Made the best of a grey day. Some fun family pics and you even captured the destruction of the pinata.

Marc, that is the shot I really wanted and thought it turned out pretty good until Terri asked me why I didn't use a different SS, it was probably due to the same reason I forgot to remove the Hoya cpl causing the pics to look dull. Oh well.

What bugged me at first when I looked at that picture was that it seemed like the tree nearest the pinata was what the camera had focused on. Looking at the image more clearly the distant trees also seem to be pretty sharp. So maybe the focus was okay throughout, and you have sufficient depth of field and that Terri is right to have questioned the shutter speed. Tough call though as you were already at ISO2200 and something has to give.

if I didn't have the filter on, the pictures would be much better for sure.
