Just my opinion, but for me the treatment doesn't work and here's why:

The view upstream is creating a sense of depth but, due to the sepia treatment, the background looks quite flat. This vegetation looks lush; I'd prefer to see all the shades of green.

I agree with this.

As Romansolar requested, could we see a color version?

Sorry , it was too early in the morning and I didn't really quite read your post correctly , Instead I posted the adjustments i made in OLONEO as apposed to posting the Color version of the image.
I will do that later tonight when I'm home.

The PP done Through Oloneo but I'm not sure if I've done it quite right by eye inspection , hopefully it's pleasing to the eye

Definitely more feeling of depth with color. Wonder how a cooler B&W would fair?

I agree . Just looking at the monochrome version and then the color , it becomes more apparent that the color version has slightly more depth to it . I DID take the image in B&W as Raw+ originally.

Edit : Here is a B&W version . also posted in another thread.

I, too, prefer the color version. I don't have anything constructive to offer at the moment, as I'm looking at this on a crummy monitor.

Thanks slowpez , you're very kind . This is a stunning place but a long hike . Infact a 25 km return hike from my house which is what I like. I lost my infra red remote for that shot . Well actually drowned it in water .and nearly lost the k5 as I stepped on boulders on the river bed . But if you ask me if it was worth it .absolutely it was !

I'm glad you like the 2nd color version . It is a bit more tame or sudued as you put it. Not too overdone.
