Sharing a success with Pentax gear:
Baguio City, known for its pine trees and flowers, thus having the Panagbenga Festival or Flower Festival held annually.
A photograph of a participant of the Grand Panagbenga Street Parade created with Pentax *ist DS matched with SMC Pentax A 70-210mm 1:4 won the coveted Published Photo of the Year this recent year and made as a page cover of the Panagbenga Magazine in Baguio City, Philippines.
Also, the photo has made its way to the National Geographic-Italia, featured in their site "The Most Interesting Festivals of the World".
Let's all keep on shooting, let's all keep on creating timeless images with our gear... =)

Season of Blooming

A dancer sprinkle a bit 'of water around on the occasion of the Panagbenga Flower Festival, held annually in February in the city of Baguio, Philippines. Panegbenga The term literally means "blooming season".

Beautiful. If I was being picky, I might say that the background was a little distracting but who cares? If ever there was a shot that proved the adage "it's not the equipment, it's the photographer", this would be it.

What is inspiring is not that it was Pentax equipment - but rather that it was a "Pentax *ist DS matched with SMC Pentax A 70-210mm 1:4" That's neither a new body nor a remarkable lens, so it does give hope to those of us who manage to get by without limited lenses (although I'm fortunate enough to have something a little more recent than a *ist).
(ps. a very minor point - I like the way you did the watermark. It is clear that it is there when you go looking for it, but it does not detract much from the image or draw the viewers eye)

That's great. Well done with the NG content. I really like the shot and the way you've captured the drops of water is special.

Richard.
