Tomato Hornworm

Found these buggers on my tomato plants, took a snap before I dispatched them.......

That one is actually the Tobacco hornworm, Manduca sexta.

Em, it is the larvae of the hawk moth or hummingbird moth. Very destructive to tomato plants. Blue is correct though, that is the tobacco version, the tomato version has different markings and the horn is black. The tobacco version is more common here, and is the one usually found on everyone's tomatoes and is just called the tomato version. BTW......the horn is on the tail end.
