Daily Recovery Photos
Posted By: AussieTrev, 06-20-2012, 04:56 PM

I have just started my recovery after shoulder surgery. As I expect to be 6 to 8 weeks in a sling I thought a daily photo thread. Lucky I have my right arm still Working. A first it will be with the K-01 and 40mm XS as changing lens is near impossible. Perhaps not all photos will be good and to start they will be close to home. There is no particular theme just what I see that day. I will add a photo most days to this thread. Thanks for looking.

Sunset day 1.

This gives the impression that the fun police are about. Placing litter in the bin is fun, but there is only so much fun you can have doing it.
Sounds like great fun! Pack up the wife and kiddies to head to the beach and practice putting trash in the litter bin all day! I bet the kids look forward to that!

Good luck on your hopefully speedy recovery. Been there done that in '92.....healed up fine. Had a broken right ankle at the same time...wasn't fun but it passes.

Regards

Day 11 - I agree, love the light.

Day 14 - the light, again. You sure have a nose for finding it!

Day 15 - Love it. There was a program on Animal Planet, I don't remember the name of it but the gist was how long nature would take to eradicate all traces of human existence, should we suddenly disappear. Your photo reminds me of that.

Day 16 - I know of someone who was driving her open-air Jeep down an out-of-the-way road, and didn't see the red lights flashing by the RR tracks because of the angle of the sun. She had her music blasting, and thus couldn't hear the warning bells, nor the train's horn. She got demolished.

Day 7 - I enjoy picking up litter and disposing of it properly. I also enjoy nearly everything else on that sign. "Fun police", indeed.

Thanks Rupert, yeah I took a few photos that day, clouds, seagulls and the like, but that sign said it all.

Lutfluss, thanks for the comments. I have this problem, other than LBA, I don't always see my photos as that great, yet I rave over my wife's (AnnieBell on here.). Your comments are such a positive reinforcement thank you.

Day 19: Bark

Went for an 11 kilometre walk today. Shoulder hurt a little with not being able to swing the arm. Didn't take that many photos, partly didn't want to have too slower time, but there wasn't as much to photograph as I would have liked. Next time I'll see much more or different, and it showered a little today. Anyway this is the one for today.

All nice snaps, but the one at post #9, where the missus is in the shed using the compound saw. That's the best. Nice shed too.

Chained

The weather has turned gloomy again, , so today I thought, one photo, little or no editing and see how it goes. I did a little output sharpening, but nothing else, no crop, just as the camera, and me saw it. I'll now go and give it a hit with the editing, but this one is the plain one.

Not Ready Yet

Day still gloomy. Had a visit from one of the guys at work, first one. At least I'm not missed. Well didn't get my customary photo walk in, so tried the K-01 with a different lens. One handed and monopod, not easy, with the Sigma APO 150-500mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM, had to be careful. This is the result. Would prefer the 105, but it is still on it's way back from repair. Might keep an eye on this one and take a few progressive ripening shots.

Us

Today headed out to one of our shopping centres, still gloomy out, damn. My lovely wife took the one of me and it is used with permission. I needed some real help in post, I think I have a bit of sun damage there, must be because of a life outside.

Da 23: Bramble Bay Panorama

We headed down to Redcliffe for one bird photograph practice, photographing seagulls. Hot chips and a camera. The K-01 and 40mm is not a bird lens camera combination and we only got about half the chips. Annie did get a couple of shots, but it was practice. Anyway next we headed round to Scarborough and waited fir the sunset. A bit disappointing from a colour prospective, but I set myself up in the chair and the K5 on the monopod. I know which camera focuses faster, the K5 and more accurate. The K-01 doesn't like focusing on cloud, not a problem to the K5. This is the result of three shot panorama, may have had some slight misalignment, but not bad otherwise. That's Annie trying to get a jet ski kicking up some spray. The Glasshouse mountains are in the distance. The Very distances. Okay, maybe they aren't very obvious.

Day 24: North Pine Morning Stillness.

For about 5 minutes the water was still. This is a 3 shot HDR, hand held.

Day 25: Koala

A Koala in the wild, Sweeney Reserve, Petrie. This is not the best photo, but this fellow or girl wasn't sticking around for a photo opportunity, and the 40mm doesn't have the reach, and I can't climb trees at the moment. . Anyway we have these around the area, although they are threatened by the urban sprawl.
