Beecause I can
Lens: Quantaray 70-300 1:2 Macro Camera: K-x Photo Location: the back yard woods

I had never before noticed a metallic green bee, but that may say more about my observational skills than anything else. The one that I've seen recently is always around this little patch of evening primroses, and always when the sky is cloudy.

Linked from my Photobucket, the scaling seems to make the images a little soft. The last 4 shots are crops.

To see a more print-worthy shot, check out Philoslothical's green bee.

Gorgeous! The third and last are amazing. We seem to have a lot of the same plant and insect life around. Makes sense, as NJ isn't too far, but the same distance north from here is vastly different.

Keep 'em coming, always enjoy your work.

Haven't ever noticed a bee that color, must be a hybrid of sort, great shots as usual.

Yeah, I noticed that, too. It's pretty fun, actually, and inspirational. I want to get closer to the bee, next time I see it. It seems non-aggressive, although fast moving.

And yeah, I'm sweating like a pig during this heat wave.

If you haven't seen it Bob, in all your travels...

I agree that third one is awesome ! Do you think perhaps some of the honey fermented into wine and he got a little sick ? I have never seen these colors on a bee either.

Great captures. I've never seen a green bee. These are so sharp. I like them all but the last two are super.

An over-indulgent bee! What didn't I think of that?!

Thanks. Do you have any more pics? I'm on a "green bee kick" right now, and so far I've only seen pics from you, me & Philoslothical.
