This is the year of the locust! You can actually hear them munching! Sorry for the blurry images. High wind, 18MPH and low light didn't help photography.

It's horrid indeed. The grape vines are completely stripped.

This is a regular sight around here every Spring only with us it's grasshoppers, caterpillars, and beetles. They can strip the trees bare in a matter of a day when they hit though. It's totally creepy and totally amazing. Most of them are done now but I'm still thunking huge yellow grasshoppers off the screens once in a while. They like to climb up them for some reason. I'm glad it's not locusts though. Insects flying in swarms give me the shivers.

They will have everything stripped soon! Happens about every 7 years! Doesn't seem like it's been 7 years since the last invasion. They make the roads so slippery that car accidents are frequent.

Now I refuse to go outside. Ugh. I should thank you for posting these but they just give me the willies and I will most likely dream about them all night.

My wife enjoys her annual flower garden! She lives for Spring and Summer when she can garden. This is a complete bust. Yes, it is depressing! The birds, snakes, lizards and frogs are happy, happy. Most of our birds are into their second hatching. We've got dozens of baby birds learning to fly - that's fun to watch! They fly a little a then stop to eat! Fly a little more and then eat a few more bugs!

Will....if you can cover them in Milk Chocolate and dip them in roasted peanut pieces, Otis says he will send out his Army and devour every last one of them! Heck...if you can fry them in Possum grease, I might enjoy a few myself!

Regards!
