Killers on the Prowl!
Camera: Fuji X10 Photo Location: Texas ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/125s Aperture: F2.8

The West side of my home is swarming with Cicada Killer Wasps. They nested there last year, and now the hatch-lings are buzzing by the dozens. There aren't many Cicadas this year, so they aren't digging as many holes as they were last year.

This is what they are looking for.

Sort of neat to see these big guys all buzzing all around!....and as usual, they don't scare Otis!

But when you take these photos, does Otis get jealous? Nice shots Rupert, you could run a bug portrait studio as a sideline to your wedding photogrphy business

I don't have a Wedding Photography Business....and I don't want one...ever!

Otis doesn't mind if I shoot insects with the Toy Camera...he says it is in the roach category anyhow.

Regards!

Great series of shots Rupert. Don't think I would be too happy to have killer wasps hanging around the house especially if their prey is nowhere to be found. What are the going to eat? You or Otis?

Thanks Mickey! Susan, Otis is fearless, and immune to most anything ...so he says...so that leaves me. I'll try to be real careful!

Otis did say that they die after stinging.....and he asked me to see if I could irritate them all into stinging me to see if it is true. Otis is always thinking ahead......
Regards!
