Great North walk
Lens: Da15 ltd Camera: Pentax K5 Photo Location: somewhere close ISO: 80 Shutter Speed: Above 6s Aperture: F22

It's nice to post a color photo of some of the scenery that surrounds me. I feel very fortunate to live in such a beautiful place. Only minutes walk from my house.By the time I walk out of my house I'm already walking on the track as see on the other side of the bridge which leads me along side of the river. It's nice to hear the water running. Dogs are not really allowed on these tracks as they are national parks but mine do anyway but for a short distance and then we enter the council land.

You are lucky to live near such a nice place! Beautiful shot, what kind of processing did you do?

The shot was initially taken with Hoya NDx400 on da15 ltd lens in RAW+, I then PP it using Oloneo and the Windows 7 image editing software. added some tonal strength and changed the tonal mapping slightly in OLONEO and increased contrast , that's about all . here is another one if you enjoyed the first one.

It must have been very still as the trees do not show any motion blur from the wind. Nice depth and lead line to the image. Thanks for sharing

@dice it was a very still day considering such a long exposure. There is slight blur on top of the trees in first image if I recall when this shot was taken a gentle breeze blowing but still rest of it came out sharp . It's quite a site fter a few days of rain the river is abundantly flowing ,Thanks for watching and your comments.

@slowpez , you really need to come over for a visit you will love the scenery and have a field day with your camera

Beautiful location, the photos look HDR-ish, I guess from the tone adjustments you made.

Thanks for the info disco_owner ,

I think this is a good subject for HDR given the dynamic range you find here.
How you process the images in your HDR software is of course purely a matter of taste, but I think it looks good.

P.S. I like the second one too, although it does seem to have a bit of blown out sky and you should be able to avoid that with HDR

Hi Paul, I PP'ed the 2nd image in "OLONEO" photo-engine , and Win7 photo-editing software finished the Job ;-)

I agree processing is a matter of taste. the sky doesn't look washed out this time , I much prefer it this way,

Thanks for you input and help on this

A mate of mine has a little beach shack at Patonga, and we're both keen to have a go at riding our mountain bikes from Newcastle to Patonga on the Great North Walk.
It's a bit steep in places, I hear. Must take the camera, if and when we eventually go.
Anyway, nice shots here. The Sydney end of the track looks a lot like the Newcastle end.

Regards
