That is one impressive kingfisher.
The poor old fishes face in the first photo is just a look of inevitable doom.
Well done.

Timing is everything Ken and you managed it perfectly on the first shot. Impressive series as always.

Great series! What a colorful bird. Uh was this a flying fish or did the bird give it a toss before chomping on it?

The first one is timed perfectly. Fantastic. I have a newbie question. How many shots it took to catch this? Were you just spraying and praying?

Thanks Den, yes the bird toss the fish twice before swallowing it.
The 2nd time he tossed was back facing me , before that he whacked the fish left-right-up-down against the thick tree trunk, to smash the bones? or remove the fish's scales?

Thanks. I shot using continuous mode until my K5 ran out of buffer, did that for few times, in between change shooting spots for best view and dodging the shadow cast by the leaves above the bird.

Great shots! Beautiful subject, nice moment and good composition, how can one complain?
I don't think I've ever seen a kingfisher in real, I would love to though.
