Nice shots at F/4.I think that there would be a big difference if you could have taken it at f/8 or better.--charliezap

Thanks its a m42 and I have to view through the closed aperture so it gets pretty dark fast as you can see although it is daylight out the background is black. I would have had to make a sacrifice in iso or shutter-speed but most importantly I need to see when it is in focus.

More DOF would have been useful, but I do think you did well. They look just like the hoverflies in my neck of the woods.

I concur with luftfluss on it being a Hoverfly and very good shots as well.

Thanks all. They areknown as Hover flies, Flower flies or syrphid flies. I've always known them as Sweat Bees.
