Too Big For My Pocket!
Camera: Fuji X10 Photo Location: Texas ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/45s Aperture: F5.6

We had a little shower and it brought out a couple of old toads that have been around here for ages. When I was a kid I used to carry one in my pocket most of the time to keep my two sisters at a distance, and my Mom too when I got in trouble. This one is a little too large for my pocket...but it would keep Mrs Rupert at a distance when she learns Otis has been nibbling on her plants!
Regards!

When I was a kid, I'd see little toads in the yard on a regular basis. Sadly, the polluted environment seems to have diminished that, and now I see one maybe once a year.

Cute little fella ya got there.

It's sad, but you are so right. We used to have toads all over the place...but not anymore. We also had millions of horned toads, and now they are near extinct. The environment has not been kind to many animals, such a shame...on us!

Regards!

Rupert, glad you still have a few toads around. I know in the desert where I grew up, most of the animals and insects are no longer there. How Sad.

You want some toads, we have more than we need and they are a pest. They are destroying so much of the native species here.
