Lens: DA*16-50 Camera: K5 Photo Location: Backyard BBQ ISO: 80

Just got me an AF-540FGZ flashgun this weekend and wanted to put it through its paces this weekend. Thought to try it out as a fill flash with my nieces as we hosted a BBQ today. These are some of the photos I was able to capture. I forgot my memory cards at home in the bag so I improvised using the Micro-SD to SD card converter I had in my cupholder of my car and the micro-SD out of my phone... which only allowed me 20 shots of the day. I think I did pretty good.

Why do I always make these stupid gear mistakes lately. I better get a gear checklist in order before I go out next.... forgot my tripod quick connect plate last time...time before that was remembered the strap but not the strap button (BlackRapid Cargo), time before that I forgot my spare battery....

anyways... lets look at some photos:

that last one is my favorite.

Very good photos, looks to have been a fun day. We're they all taken with the flash mounted on the camera?

Great shots!
I use a messenger camera bag where I store spare batteries, sd cards, strap, car charger and a couple of small Limiteds inside.
This bag has space for my camera and whatever lens is on it and goes with me on every excursion so I'm never caught without some backup.
The tripod is not always with me so that takes conscious effort to remember.
I also keep a spare sd card in my cars glove compartment just in case.

I need to do that for sure. I usually got an SD card in my car as well, but took it out to dump it as I need it when I ran out of room a while ago.

I was thinking a smaller Think Tank bag like a Urban Disguise series.

yes, I used the AF540FGZ on every shot playing around with settings and shooting with it in manual mode.

Lovely shots! Lovely girls! What fun they are to shoot at that age when everything is so exciting! Future heart breakers, both of them!

Regards!

Second last is a keeper. Might need to turn the flash down a tad, but you got some good memories captured there.
