Well, this is the last series of my Volvo Ocean Race 2011-12 photos. The missing part is the fleet out for the 9th (and last) leg from Lorient,France to Galway,Ireland.

Very good photos, without a doubt.
I like the second one best with the OOF foreground/wave and the bright orange jackets popping out on the boat.
Looks like it was a great day.

Fantastic, Dominique - maybe you can fly over to photograph my boat Cut Time charging across the bay (a good deal slower than the raucous boats you beautifully captured here).

It truly was a wonderful experience to get so close to these fast and highly maneuvrable boats (there are just 30 seconds between photo 7 and 8). I had two major challenges while shooting these boats. Normally, I like to check the resulting image on the back screen with histogram to make sure it is exposed correctly and adjust if needed, but soon, a salt layer covers the whole camera and back screen, making a review of the photos almost impossible. The other challenge was of course to keep the front lens dry which was impossible; I had constantly to wipe away the sea spray of nearly each wave coming over the zodiac. But, given the results, it was well worth the trouble.
